How to save money buying organic….
13th October 2008
It’s an unfortunate fact but as the credit crunch hits we have to make choices as to where our money is best spent. At times like these buying organic may seem like a luxury, I know I’ve had to switch back to conventional products on certain items. But this interesting article from the BBC shows how buying organic can still be achieved on a budget http://www.bbcgreen.com/Food/Organic/budget-organic.
For myself I think it’s important to remember why I switched in the first place. Those reasons still exist and to give up now would go back on everything I’ve argued for the past couple of years! I’ve started to look at portion sizes and have also started adding beans, pulses and lentils to dishes such as bolognese to pad them out and reduce the amount of expensive meat needed. Consequently we’re eating a much healthier diet balanced with plenty of wholegrains and fibre and we stay full for longer!
